First Newborn Dolphin of 2024 Found in Anlong Kampi

Kratie: River guards patrolling Anlong Kampi, Chroy Banteay, spotted the first newborn dolphin of 2024. The two-day-old calf was sighted on February 11, 2024, at approximately 10:45 AM.

The discovery took place at Anlong Kampi, Chroy Banteay, in Sambok village, Sambok commune, Chit Borey district, Kratie province, with coordinates 48P: 0610404 and UTM: 1391037.

The newborn dolphin was found within a pod of about six dolphins.

It's important to note that on November 4, 2023, a team from the Fisheries Administration and WWF visited the site and photographed dolphins swimming in a pod of approximately six dolphins.

Additionally, on December 22, 2023, a pod of about 15 to 20 pink dolphins was observed swimming in the saltwater estuary of Kampot province.
